March 29 .. English I STAAR Testing (Special Schedule)
Students will meet in their 3rd period classes from 1:40-1:50 so that official attendance can be recorded.
Regular Schedule (NO LATE ARRIVAL) tomorrow (Wednesday, March 30).
English II STAAR Testing on Thursday - again, students will meet in their 3rd period classes from 1:40-1:50 for official attendance.
Friday ... Regular Schedule again.

Weird schedules this week with STAAR testing on Tuesday and Thursday. Reminder that on those days, you MUST be present during the 3rd period attendance check at 1:40pm.

Students will review elements of MLA formatting in preparation for editing and revising of persuasive research paper rough drafts. Students will use revising and editing skills to transition work from a rough draft to a final draft.
Students will continue to read and analyze Shakespearean Drama (Macbeth).
WARM UP:

- Students will complete editing and revising of rough drafts .. make sure you submit an electronic copy to Edmodo as well as a printed copy to the black crate in the computer lab.

Mar 3 ... Peer Editing
OBJ:
Students will review elements of MLA formatting in preparation for editing and revising of persuasive research paper rough drafts. Students will use revising and editing skills to transition work from a rough draft to a final draft.
Students will continue to read and analyze Shakespearean Drama (Macbeth).
WARM UP:
CWoD ... EQUIVOCATE
TODAY ...
- Make sure to get BOTH pages of the peer editing activity from the Chromebook cart.
- You will rate (on a scale of 1-5 ... 5 being best) several key areas of your partner's paper. You can also make BRIEF comments on parts as you see fit.
- Find a partner to work with and share your research paper with them - you will get their completed peer editing sheet when they are done so you have some peer feedback to use as you fine tune your final draft.
- At the end, write a 4-5 sentence paragraph of your impression of the paper. What was strongest ... what was weakest? How could the writer strengthen his/her argument? Was the evidence used effective? Would this paper persuade someone who was unsure about the topic to adopt the writer's point of view?

Mar 2 ... MLA Review (Format and Citations)
OBJ:
Students will review elements of MLA formatting in preparation for editing and revising of persuasive research paper rough drafts. Students will use revising and editing skills to transition work from a rough draft to a final draft.
Students will continue to read and analyze Shakespearean Drama (Macbeth).
WARM UP:

- Using your Chromebooks, complete the MLA Tutorial and Review at the following link. Take the Pre-Test for your own information (DO NOT SUBMIT THE PRETEST RESULTS!!!)
- At the end, once you have gone through the final review, YOU WILL SUBMIT THE POST TEST (at the very bottom you will see the following box ... be sure you complete all fields. You may retake the post-test as many times as you choose and will receive a quiz grade for your highest score.
- Understand that this "review" of MLA Citations is in response to many of you NOT including citations and a works cited page with your rough drafts. If you fail to include that with your final drafts, it will be an automatic zero for plagiarism.
