February 7 ... Beginning Source and Note "Cards"
- The sheets we will use for our sources are on the front cart (upper right shelf)- you'll only need one list of sources (and if all your sources are from the databases, it will be really easy to fill out).
- List the Author's Name (if available), Article Name, and where you retrieved it (Gale ... EBSCO ... etc) IF it came from one of the databases.
- If you got it elsewhere, you will need to list the source in full MLA format.
- The sheets we will use for notes (middle shelf ... much LARGER stack of paper) are there as well.
- Review the notes on paraphrasing and quoting before you begin ... http://www.easybib.com/guides/lessons/quoting-paraphrasing-research/
- DO NOT MIX SOURCES ON A NOTE SHEET - MAKE SURE YOUR SOURCE NUMBERS ARE ON THE FRONT TO SHOW WHICH SOURCE THE NOTES ARE FROM
- Page numbers won't be needed (or available) from database articles.
- Make sure your notes are a mixture of direct quotes and paraphrases.
- KEEP ALL YOUR RESEARCH MATERIALS IN THE MANILA ENVELOPE YOU'RE PROVIDED.
- Remember you need a MINIMUM of 5 sources and 60+ notes.
